8. Newsflare pays you fifty percent of the licence fee each time a client uses a video you filmed
Eight phone gigs that pay, starting with videos you already shot. Number eight: Newsflare pays you 50% of the licence fee each time a client uses a video you filmed. You always keep the copyright, and buyers license real videos filmed by people around the world. Its page says the footage comes from smartphones, dash cams and security cameras.
Three steps: tell it you want to sell video, create your account, then upload. Once it's uploaded, it shares your video with buyers, and you get paid for every sale. For example, a sudden storm you filmed on your way home could be one of those real videos. Payment goes to PayPal, or to a debit account.
Its help page says the money comes within twenty-four hours of the client's payment, once your balance is over twenty-five pounds. A sale under twenty-five pounds expires twelve months after the sale date. PayPal payments must be claimed within thirty days, or PayPal sends them back. Videos uploaded since the end of January twenty twenty-five must stay live ninety days before a deletion request works.
You must be eighteen or older, and the taxes on what you earn are yours to pay. Its page says you can get started for free. If you want more ways to earn with the phone in your pocket, subscribe now, so the next list reaches you. Number seven turns things you no longer use into money, at a price you choose.
7. On Wallapop, you sell what you no longer use, at your price, in the three countries its terms name
Number seven: on Wallapop, you sell what you no longer use, at your price, in the three countries its terms name. You list an item in the app with a title, a category and up to ten photos. Then you set the selling price and, if you want to ship, a weight range. For example, a bike you no longer ride, photographed from every side, is one listing.
Publishing is free, though some categories have limits, and its paid subscriptions are an optional way to list more. It suggests watching the chat, so you answer questions from interested buyers. With a buyer, you can meet in person, or ship through the app if they're far away. For a shipped sale, you have five days to deliver after you're told someone bought it.
The money reaches your app wallet once the buyer confirms the item is right, within forty-eight hours of delivery. From the wallet, a bank transfer costs nothing extra and takes a few working days. Before that transfer, there's an ID check that usually takes up to twenty-four hours. It accepts an official ID, such as a passport or a driver's licence.
You must be of legal age, and Wallapop only protects deals paid and shipped through the platform. Number six builds you a whole online store, right from an Android phone.
6. On Instamojo, you build an online store from an Android phone, for residents of the one country its terms name
Number six: on Instamojo, you build an online store from an Android phone, for residents of the one country its terms name. You install the app, set up the store, and add products with images and descriptions. It sells digital products like courses and ebooks, or physical items like clothing, home decor and event tickets. For example, a cooking course or an ebook you wrote could be your first digital product.
You run inventory, orders and payments from the app, and can promote the store from there too. There's a free plan, and on it each sale carries a fee of 5% plus three rupees. By our count, on a five-hundred-rupee sale, that fee comes to twenty-eight rupees. A paid plan lowers the fee to 2% plus three rupees, but it's optional.
The sale amount, minus the fee, reaches your bank within one business day. Business days run Monday to Friday, and skip the days banks close by law. Faster payouts are optional and cost more: 1% plus tax for an instant one. Approval happens online through an identity check, and you choose how often you're paid.
You must be eighteen or older, and you give buyers at least three business days to ask for a refund. Number five pays you for music you upload, with a 50% share.
5. On Audiomack, you upload music from your phone, but its earning program asks for fifty thousand plays in six months
Number five: on Audiomack, you upload music from your phone, but its earning program asks for 50,000 plays in six months. The creator app is free, and lets you upload songs, albums and podcasts right from your phone. The earning program also asks for an authenticated profile and at least 100 followers. Authentication itself needs two uploads, twenty-five followers and a thousand plays.
Once you're in, pay is your streams times the revenue per stream, times a 50% share. Its page says there's no fixed rate per stream: it changes with the country and the platform's total revenue. Only original songs you fully own count, so remixes, covers and mixtapes earn nothing there. Payment is net ninety: January's earnings are paid by the end of April.
You can cash out right from the app. Withdrawals are approved in up to four business days, then take two to three more. Its help page lists the countries where the program is open. And an optional paid Pro plan lets you start earning as soon as it begins.
We're halfway, and one check helps with every app here: read when it pays and its minimum. Number four pays writers on their phones, from a share of what readers spend.
4. On Pratilipi, you write and publish stories from the app, and reader subscriptions pay you only after two milestones
Number four: on Pratilipi, you write and publish stories from the app, and reader subscriptions pay you only after two milestones. You create drafts, add images and publish right from the app. You download it, sign in with a Google or Facebook account, and tap Write to start. The paid feature, called Superfan, unlocks by itself, with no forms and no application.
You need at least 200 followers, and five new parts or stories in the last thirty days. By our count, one new part every six days adds up to five in thirty days. Then you take home 36% of every Superfan subscription bought for your profile. Its own example: 200 coins in stickers are worth 100 rupees, and your share is thirty-six.
Your earnings show up in the Author Dashboard inside the app. Earnings above fifty rupees are paid to your bank within twenty days after each month ends. You add your bank details once, and the deposit then runs every month by itself. You must be over eighteen, and the taxes on those earnings are yours.
Subscriptions come only from readers in one country, and the iPhone app is still catching up with Android. Seven more ways to earn with just a phone are in our earlier video, linked on screen. Number three sells new items, with no commission for your first 120 days.
3. On Shopee's hub for one market
Number three: on Shopee's hub for one market, new sellers pay no base commission for their first 120 days. You can start selling right in the Shopee app, and manage your seller account from your phone. Before you sell, your phone number must be verified and your listings must follow its item rules. Every seller completes a one-time identity check, and each person gets one seller account.
After those days, commission depends on the product's price and category, and a fee applies to every order. Its fee list also names service and shipping fees. Earnings reach your seller balance within seven days after an order is delivered. With delivery companies outside its own system, that can take up to twenty-three days from shipping.
You add a bank account in the app, then withdraw from the Finance page. One withdrawal a week is free, and each extra one costs twenty cents. The money usually reaches your bank in about one working day. In one breath: clips, second-hand sales, a store, music, stories and new items, each with its own rules.
Number two is for things you already own, with one clear fee.
2. On Mercari, you sell things you own, and the buyer can cancel if you don't ship within three business days
Number two: on Mercari, you sell things you own, and the buyer can cancel if you don't ship within three business days. You take a few photos, add a description, set your price and ship it. The app's own tips: photos from every angle, and the brand and product name in the description. Listing is always free, and fees are charged only when an item sells.
The selling fee is 10%, of the item price and of the shipping the buyer pays. By our count, a twenty-dollar item with $5 of buyer-paid shipping carries a two-dollar-fifty fee. Once it sells, Mercari emails you a shipping label to print and attach. After delivery, the buyer has seventy-two hours to review it, and the rating releases your money.
Direct deposit to a checking account is free and typically arrives within five business days. Instant Pay reaches a debit card within minutes, for $3, up to $600 a month. You must live in the one country its terms name, and be eighteen or older. Before number one, a guess: how much does one approved app-test report pay?
1. On Beta Family
Number one: on Beta Family, you test iOS and Android apps on your own phone, and you're paid per approved report. A report pays from $3 eighty at the first level to $11 forty at the fifth. That's a share, from twenty to 60%, of the $19 the company pays per report. Testers try the app, follow the tasks and write a report that answers the company's questions.
Its own tip: try to force errors, like turning off wifi during a download. You start with a free test, and a rating of three stars or more opens the paid ones. Higher levels need more tests and a three or four star average. You decide whether to join each test, and when you do it within the round.
Payouts go by PayPal, about once a month, once your balance reaches $50. By our count, that's fourteen reports at the first level, or five at the top one. Before the first payout, you verify your identity with a photo of your ID and a selfie. Creating a tester account is free; you need to be eighteen, and you use your own phone and internet.
Tests aren't guaranteed, and on closing the account, only a balance of $50 or more is paid out. Any fees PayPal charges to receive the money are yours. So, eight phone gigs: video clips, second-hand sales, an online store and music. Then stories, new items, the things you own, and number one, app tests paid per report.
Comparing the eight, Newsflare and Audiomack pay 50% shares, and Pratilipi 36%. Newsflare, Instamojo and Mercari's Instant Pay say they can pay within about a day. Audiomack, by contrast, pays about three months after the month you earn. One small step today: open one app's help page, linked below, and find its payout minimum.

Sources and notes
Eight gigs people do with only a phone: selling videos you filmed, selling what you no longer use, running an online store, earning from music, writing stories readers pay for, selling new items, selling things you own, and testing apps for a fee per approved report. Each one comes from the platform's own pages, checked on October 28, 2026: what you do, how pay works, when you are paid, who can join and the first steps, plus counts of our own. Several platforms work in only one or a few countries, and countries, ages, checks and fees differ by platform and change over time, so read each one's pages before you sign up. This video is information only, not financial advice, and the mascot is a fictional character.
