Intro

Seven ways people earn extra money with just a phone, and by the end, you'll know exactly how each one works, step by step. And number one turns a link you share into a commission, once someone makes a qualifying purchase. Number seven: answer short surveys in an app, right from your phone, while you wait. With Google Opinion Rewards, you complete short surveys while standing in line, or waiting for a subway.

The topics include everything from opinion polls, to hotel reviews, to merchant satisfaction surveys. For example, a survey might ask about a hotel you stayed in, or a store you just visited. The app notifies you when a survey is waiting for you. For each survey you complete, you get rewarded with Google Play or PayPal credit.

The reward comes as credit, and a survey arrives only when there is one for you. Number six: small paid tasks you can do from your phone, at home or on the go. On Clickworker, one kind of task is simple: you take a picture with your smartphone and upload it. For example, a photo task can be just one picture, taken and uploaded from your phone.

Other tasks ask you to record short audio clips, or to make short videos with your phone. In a mystery visit, you go to a nearby store, take pictures of products, and upload them. Which tasks show up for you depends on the platform and on your own profile. If guides like this help you, subscribe: every step here comes from each platform's own page, linked below.

Number five: post your short videos to Spotlight, so more people on Snapchat can see them. On Snapchat, payment-eligible activities include ads within Public Stories and Spotlights. For example, a short video you post to Spotlight adds to your view time there. When you receive Creator Rewards, you can cash them out for money.

You do that in the Creator Rewards Hub, right in your Profile. To be considered for Snapchat's Monetization Program, creators need at least 50,000 followers. Creators also need 15,000 hours of view time in the last twenty-eight days, with at least 3,000 from Spotlight. You must be at least eighteen, or the age of legal majority where you live.

Joining is by invitation, and payouts go only to the countries Snapchat lists. Number four: host a podcast, and talk about something you love. On Spotify for Creators, you host your show, then apply to the Spotify Partner Program. Your show needs at least three published episodes.

For example, a show about cooking can start with three short episodes, recorded on your phone. In the last thirty days, it also needs 2,000 consumption hours on Spotify, and an audience count of 1,000. By our count, 2,000 hours in thirty days is about sixty-seven hours of listening a day, across all your listeners. You insert at least one ad break into an episode to earn any ad revenue.

Then you earn a 50% share of the ad revenue when those ads play. It works only in eligible markets, and Spotify says the criteria may change. Number three: stream live, and build a community that watches together. On Twitch, you join the Affiliate Program by meeting four requirements in the last thirty days.

You need twenty-five followers. You stream for four hours, on four different days, and reach an average of three viewers. By our count, four hours over four days is about one hour on each of those days. Those three viewers watch at the same time; three views in total are not the same thing.

Then Twitch invites you to the Affiliate Program by email and notification. To begin onboarding, you turn on two-factor authentication on your account. Streamers aged thirteen to seventeen can join only with a parent's or guardian's consent and supervision. Number two: post videos over a minute long, and get rewarded for how they perform.

On TikTok, the Creator Rewards Program rewards eligible creators based on how their videos perform. Rewards are calculated from qualified views, and from the rewards per 1,000 qualified views. You post original content, in videos at least one minute long. For example, a one-minute recipe video is long enough; a thirty-second clip is not.

To join, you need at least 10,000 followers, and 100,000 video views in the last thirty days. By our count, 100,000 views in thirty days is about 3,300 views a day. It runs only in the countries where the program is available, for creators eighteen or older. Number one: share links to products you already like, and earn a commission when people buy.

On Amazon Associates, you sign up, then recommend products to your audience. Amazon offers linking tools for bloggers and social media creators. For example, a cooking channel can link to the kitchen tools it uses in its videos. Amazon's Associates page lists commissions of up to 10% on qualifying purchases and programs.

In the program's own rate table, physical books, kitchen and automotive items earn four and a half percent. By our count, at four and a half percent, a fifty-dollar order of books brings a commission of $2 and twenty-five cents. You earn only on qualifying purchases, and each Amazon store has its own rate table and rules. So, seven ways: surveys, small tasks, Spotlight, podcasts, live streams, longer videos, and product links.

Rules differ where you live, so open the official page of the one you pick and check its current requirements. Which one would you open first? Tell me the number in the comments. Results vary, and this is information only, not financial advice.

This is Wealth Filings. Next, seven more ways people make extra money, and how each one works, linked on screen.
