Seven apps that pay you for what you already have, and how each one works. Here is what one used-gear page says: zero fees, and a free instant quote. Stay for number one, where the language you speak every day becomes lessons you sell.

7. Is the camera or lens you no longer use worth money today

Number seven: is the camera or lens you no longer use worth money today? A quote is an estimate: MPB's specialists inspect each item and may raise or lower it. It is a platform to buy, sell and trade used photo and video gear, and its page lists zero fees. You enter the model and pick a cosmetic condition, and its pricing engine does the rest.

A quote stays valid for fourteen days. Shipping is free and insured, and you can drop the gear off or schedule a free pickup at home. Packaging costs are yours: the terms say MPB does not cover them. If the price changes after inspection, you can accept it or decline it.

If you decline the new price, MPB returns the gear at its own expense. Payment then goes to your bank account within days, once your details are confirmed. You must be at least eighteen to sell. By our count, a lens quoted at $200 that passes inspection would pay all 200, with no fees.

Offers and shipping options differ by country. Your opinions are something you already have, too.

6. Can the opinions you already have earn points you trade for cash

Number six: can the opinions you already have earn points you trade for cash? On Toluna, 3,000 points equal $1 in its current model. Toluna runs survey panels where you take surveys and earn rewards. Every survey you complete earns points, based on how long and how complex it is.

To start, the terms ask you to register with your full name, home address and a valid email. Membership is free and open to individuals aged sixteen or over, or the age your location requires. If you are under eighteen and earn a cash reward, it goes to your legal guardian. By joining, you agree to get survey invitations by email.

Toluna does not guarantee any minimum number of invitations. Points stay valid for twelve months from the day you earn them. Cash requests are credited to your account with one online payment service within three weeks. You may only have one account.

By our count, ten surveys worth 300 points each would make $1. Rewards and availability differ where you live. Things you rarely use can earn money without being sold.

5. Can a tool or camera you rarely use earn money while you keep it

Number five: can a tool or camera you rarely use earn money while you keep it? Hygglo takes a commission from the owner and a separate fee from the renter. It is an online platform where owners lend their items to renters in exchange for fees. Fat Llama moved completely to Hygglo, and the Hygglo app replaced the Fat Llama app.

You must be at least sixteen to use it. To list an item, the terms ask for complete and accurate information, including any faults. Your photos and videos must show the item's real quality and condition. You set your own price for renting out each item.

Hygglo pays you the rental fee, minus its commission, no later than twenty-four hours after the rental starts. After the switch, the page lists 20% from the owner and 10% from the renter. For higher-risk categories such as cameras, the renter fee stays at 25%. The terms page for another market still lists 25% from the owner.

One account lets you lend and borrow in every country where Hygglo operates. Hygglo's blog notes that listings with four or more photos get more rental requests. Payments are processed by one online payment company. By our count, a drill rented at $15 a day for ten days would bring $150.

After a 20% commission, $120 would be yours. Fees and rules differ by country. Subscribe if guides like this help you: every rule here comes from each app's own pages, linked below.

4. Could the LEGO sets and parts you already own find buyers

Number four: could the LEGO sets and parts you already own find buyers? BrickLink takes 3% of the order total on orders up to $500. It is a community-driven marketplace, and its seller rules say listings must be LEGO brand products, with two listed exceptions. Other brands of building toys are not permitted, and parts must be in their original, unmodified condition.

Bigger orders pay 2% on the part between $501,000, and 1% above that. Fees are not charged on taxes, shipping or other added charges. You are billed only when your fees reach a minimum of five or $10, depending on where you sell from. Accepted payments go straight into the payment account you connect to your store.

The help page's first step: order from a valid seller, who may then give you the positive feedback you need. To sell, you need at least one net positive feedback from a valid seller. New sellers must also add inventory to their store, to prevent fraud. It also asks for proof of ID, business address and inventory.

Its review may take up to two weeks or even longer. By our count, a set sold for $40 would carry a fee of $1 and twenty cents. That leaves $38 and eighty cents from the sale. Rules and payment options differ by country.

That's four of the seven: camera gear, opinions, rentals and building sets. Clothes you no longer wear can earn money too.

3. What could the clothes you no longer wear bring in

Number three: what could the clothes you no longer wear bring in? Under $15, Poshmark's help page lists a flat commission of $2 and ninety-five cents. From $15 up, you keep 80%. Poshmark is an online community where people shop and sell.

The app is free, and you snap a photo, price the item and list it in just a few steps. You can share listings with your followers to help shoppers find them. Each shipping label comes prepaid and pre-addressed. You print the label, package the item and take it to the carrier.

If no return case is opened within three days of delivery, payment is released to you automatically. Then you can cash out as soon as the order is complete. By our count, a jacket sold for $40 would leave you $32. A ten-dollar top would leave $7 and five cents after the flat fee.

Fees and currencies differ by country. If you want six other apps and sites that pay you, and how to start each one, that video is linked on screen. A watch you no longer wear is another thing you may already have.

2. Could a watch you no longer wear find a buyer

Number two: could a watch you no longer wear find a buyer, and what would selling it cost? Chrono24 charges a 6.95% commission, due only after you complete a sale. It is a global marketplace for watches, and listing is free. You select your watch, and its listing assistant fills in the main features.

You add photos and a description, and your listing is ready. If you have never listed a watch there, you register before you can complete your listing. A free appraisal tool compares your watch with 500,000 listings and suggests a price. With its escrow service, the buyer pays the full amount into an escrow account before you ship.

You then receive your money within seven days of the watch's delivery. The commission is taken automatically when the payout leaves escrow. If escrow is not available for a buyer, you get an invoice for the commission after the sale instead. By our count, a watch sold for $1,000 would carry a commission of $69 and fifty cents.

That leaves $930 and fifty cents. Fees, taxes and shipping rules differ where you live. Before number one, a guess: if you teach your own language online at $20 an hour, how much do you keep?

1. What happens when the language you speak every day becomes lessons you sell

Number one: what happens when the language you speak every day becomes lessons you sell? The answer: Verbling applies a 15% commission, so a twenty-dollar hourly rate leaves you $17. Verbling connects language learners with teachers for private lessons over live video. Teachers set their own hourly rates, and they can teach an unlimited number of private sessions.

To start, you create an account, log in and submit an application. The page says applications are reviewed within two weeks. You need previous experience teaching your language to speakers of other languages. A formal teaching certificate is preferable and improves your chances of admission.

You don't need to be a native speaker, but you need a very good command of the language, at the C2 level. You are paid weekly: new earnings unlock every Sunday or Monday, depending on your time zone. To cash out, you need a balance of at least ten or $20, depending on the payment service. Each cash-out also carries a small transfer fee, from one to $3 by method.

By our count, ten one-hour lessons at $20 would bring $200. 15% less, that leaves $170, before the transfer fee. Rates, payment services and taxes differ by country. That is the whole list.

So, seven apps: camera gear on MPB, opinions on Toluna and rentals on Hygglo. Then building sets on BrickLink, clothes on Poshmark, watches on Chrono24 and your language on Verbling. Today, you can open one app's page, linked below, and check one rule. Which one would you try first?
