Coins expire one year after you collect them. Its pages don't say how fast gift cards arrive or where it works. By our count, 100 coins a day equal 10,000 steps.

Number three: Winwalk gives one coin per hundred steps, up to 100 a day. Its gift cards arrive instantly, the moment you redeem your coins. It uses your phone's built-in step counter, indoors, outdoors or on a treadmill. Its terms say coins have no real-world value, so they aren't cash.

It's free, its home page says. Your first gift card needs a minimum number of coins, and the app can change it. Rewards work only where the stores behind them are available. By our count, 5,000 steps make fifty coins, half the daily cap.

Coins can become a bank transfer in some regions and PayPal in others. Its terms say coins aren't legal currency, and joining is free. To cash out, you pick an offer that fits your coins and status, at its set date and time. A bank transfer also needs your bank details and a picture of your ID.

There's no fixed rate between a Ward and money, so amounts vary. By our count, fourteen days of activity plus up to five days of waiting make about nineteen days.
